I’m so glad you’re here
It’s nice to virtually meet you!
Meet Lauren
Hey there, I’m Lauren. I’m so glad you are here! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I have over 8 years of experience in compassionately supporting clients to gain greater insight into their current struggles, learn skills to manage their symptoms, and find hope again as they clarify their values and live in step with them.
I have a history of struggling to manage anxiety and perfectionism in College that made times of transition and change - even good change - extremely difficult. This eventually led me to seek out support from a therapist where I experienced the power of having a safe space to explore my thoughts, process my emotions, and learn to challenge my patterns of behavior. After experiencing the power of connection that led to true and lasting transformation on how I relate to myself and my emotions, I became passionate about therapy and supporting others going through anxiety, self-doubt, OCD and perfectionism.
For nearly 4 years I have specialized in working with young adults and adults with OCD and complex anxiety in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program. During this time I had the honor to witness many clients lives transformed and hope reclaimed. It would be my honor to join you in your journey, as well.
My Values
Collaboration & Respect
Working with clients as partners in the therapeutic process to honor their autonomy, worth and uniqueness
Hope & Optimism
Holding the belief in clients ability to change and grow
Empathy & Compassion
Seeking to understand and showing genuine care for clients emotions and experiences
Cultural Humility
Recognizing and respecting clients cultural backgrounds and experiences and willing to learn from them
Integrity & Honesty
Maintaining professional boundaries, being truthful with clients, and disclosing any potential conflicts of interest
Confidentiality
Protecting clients privacy and ensuring the security of their information
My Approach
I view therapy as a highly collaborative process, with you as the expert of your experience and life. My role is to support you and equip you to move towards the goals you have for yourself and your life.
In session you can expect to be met with warmth, compassion, humor and a listening ear without judgement. I invite feedback from clients into session so that the therapy space feels helpful to you and tailored to your needs. I believe trust and feeling safe are the cornerstone for a strong working relationship and the foundation for healing and change to happen.
Along with being person centered in my approach to therapy, I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) to bring in skills and structure as guides to change. By pairing a person-centered approach with these therapies you will experience being listened to and empowered with skills and tools to move towards the change you are seeking. I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your journey if you are ready to take the next step.
